Fire Door Surveys

Often forming the first line of defence, fire doors are specially engineered passive fire protection systems designed, manufactured, and installed to ensure they reduce the spread of both fire and smoke.

It is a legal requirement that all fire resisting doors and escape doors are correctly manufactured, installed and adequately maintained for them to be fit for purpose.

Double L Ltd can undertake the necessary fire door surveys to ensure you comply with the latest legislation.

Option 1 – Non intrusive survey

• Report on the condition of Fire Door Assets
• Fire Door Asset Labels applied to all inspected doors
• Competitive quote supplied to remedy fire door defects. All fire door Renewal works will be undertaken by directly employed Third Party Trained Fire Door Installers with ‘Certificate of Conformity’ Issued upon completion of works

Minimum Charge: £550 up to 30No door sets, £17.50 per door set thereafter (prices exclude VAT)

The Client has knowledge and evidence to support the original door sets have been manufactured and installed as fire resisting door sets

The client has knowledge and evidence that all door sets are installed with appropriate fire stopping to rear of frame and structural opening

The client has knowledge & evidence that intumescent materials and hardware is present, correct at time of installation

The client has records of regular service & maintenance history on existing door sets where maintenance/repair work has been carried out correctly, without changing/altering the specification of the door sets originally installed

Option 2 –Intrusive survey

• Report on condition of Fire Door Assets
• Desktop study to ascertain current certification on existing fire door sets
• Fire Door Asset Labels assigned to each inspected door sets
• Fire Door Component Asset Register provided to client
• Update client’s drawings with fire door asset locations utilising identification pins
• Competitive quote supplied to remedy fire door defects. All fire door renewal works will be undertaken by directly employed Third Party Trained Fire Door Installers with ‘Certificate of Conformity’ Issued upon completion of works. 10% discount applied

Minimum Charge: £700 up to 20No doors, £30.00 per door set thereafter (prices exclude VAT)

Where the client does not have any knowledge and evidence to confirm the original doors have been manufactured and installed as a fire resisting door sets

Double L will remove architraves to only 10% of the total number of door sets inspected

With the removal of architraves decorations may be disturbed, although great care is taken during the removal process, we cannot be held liable for any split/damage architrave that occurs during the removal process
